Rodricus Crawford guilty as charged in murder of son

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A Shreveport man has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of his 1-year-old son.

The Caddo Parish jury deliberated for more than 2 hours before returning the verdict against  Rodricus Crawford Tuesday night.

Crawford's 1-year-old son Roderius Lott unresponsive in a home in the 6800 block of Broadway in February of last year. Lott was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Caddo coroner says an autopsy revealed that Rodricus Crawford's son, Roderius Lott, was smothered. The coroner also says the child had several bruises and signs of abuse.

Crawford, 25, faces the death penalty.

A sentencing hearing is set for 10:30 Wednesday morning.
