This election day was a historic one in Texas. it was the first time voters were required to show an ID before casting their vote.
It was long overdue for Texas to join the other 34 states that have similar laws.
It is controversial. In fact, right now there are dozens of groups suing or planning lawsuits challenging the law, including the Justice Department.
It is absurd that these groups believe that one of the most important privileges we have as Americans shouldn't require them to prove they're Americans and identify themselves.
It's not about discrimination against any group. It's about the integrity of a system that protects the very idea of government by the people, for the people.
