Southern Miss turnover woes continue against Louisiana Tech

Just when you think Southern Miss football is about to turn the corner something happens that leaves fans shaking their heads.

In the 2nd quarter with the Golden Eagles on the Bulldogs 35-yard-line right after they forced a turnover, Head Coach Todd Monken called for double-pass on 1st and 10 and it looked like it might work.

The pass by wide receiver Tyre'oune Holmes was subsequently intercepted in the end zone by Louisiana Tech's Adairius Barnes.

While the original play design wasn't followed, Monken put the blame on himself.

"Well, it was for the receiver in motion and [Tyre'oune] obviously made a mistake. We obviously didn't do a good enough job of T-Man understanding where we wanted to go with the ball. That's on us."

Southern Miss leads the nation in turnovers at 32.
