City Council to discuss possible tornado warning system

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The Lubbock City Council will hold a special meeting at City Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 6 p.m. to discuss the possibility of installing a tornado warning system in Lubbock.

Two deadly tornadoes that ripped through Oklahoma in May 2012, and violent thunderstorms that ripped through Lubbock causing widespread damage in April 2012, led to questions of whether Lubbock is prepared for tornadoes.

The Tornado Warning System Task Force is expected to present a report to the council at the meeting.

KCBD will have a crew at the meeting to update you on the latest developments.
