One dead after early morning collision

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

One person is dead following an overnight accident in east Lubbock county.

The accident occurred just after 2 a.m. Wednesday morning at the intersection of FM 40 and FM 400 near Roosevelt.

Authorities say 61-year-old Bobby Luman of Slaton was driving north on FM 400 when he failed to stop at a stop sign, pulling out in front of a semi-tractor trailer driven by 71-year-old Jerry Judkins of Lubbock.

Luman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Judkins was taken to Covenant and is in stable condition.

The accident remains under investigation.
