For the third year, Kringle's Kitchen charity will be hosting a free Christmas meal to those within the Portageville community and surrounding areas. They feed the less fortunate and elderly a hot meal on Christmas Day at St. Eustachius Parish Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.as well as provide other items to families. They also deliver meals. In addition to hot meals, they provide "snack stockings" to all children. These are filled with various treats and drinks to ensure they have food during the holiday school break. New this year, they will be providing non-perishable food baskets to families, thanks to food collected from the Portageville High School Student Council's food drive. They ask that families contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 573-391-0109 to sign-up for a meal. However, it is not required. They served 200 meals and provided 75 stockings in 2011. In 2012, they served 300 meals and provided 100 stockings plus toys collected by the Portageville High School Student Council. This year, they plan to serve 400 meals and prepare 160 stockings.

Each month, generally on the third Thursday in the afternoon, we're going to make a stack of Christmas and Hanukkah cards. All you have to do is show up with a basic kit which includes: your favorite paper cutting scissors, adhesive and ink pad. You'll be provided 10 cards and envelopes (plus a few extra in case you mess up). I'll demonstrate some different techniques, have a sample card or two for inspiration, and then you'll have the run of the Ephemera Paducah Studio to create a stack of cards.
