3 adults, 6 children displaced by Sunday afternoon house fire

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The Red Cross says three adults and six children have been displaced after a Sunday afternoon house fire.

Five Lubbock Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the structure fire in the 5400 block of Ave B at 12:45 p.m. Rescue units arrived to find heavy smoke conditions on the scene.

One child was treated for burn injuries to the hand but was not transported to the hospital.

Lubbock Fire Rescue says that the structure suffered 25% fire damage and 100% smoke damage.

A neighbor alerted the family to the fire. Lubbock Fire Rescue says there were no working smoking detectors in the home.

Officials say the cause of the fire was accidental.
