The Bridge of Lubbock will be hosting their annual Thanksgiving Outreach on Friday, Nov. 22, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at 1301 E. Redbud Avenue.
Ashlei Watson, the director of outreach with the Bridge of Lubbock, says they will be serving a free meal to families.
"Some people don't have tables to sit around and eat dinner with their families. So, this is an opportunity for them to have a family atmosphere, sit around a table and catch up with one another," Watson said.
In addition to the meal, each family who attends the luncheon will receive a bag of groceries.
2013 marks the 4th year the Bridge of Lubbock has served Lubbock families. In 2012, the outreach served 250 people and they are aiming to reach more than 300 people this year.
Volunteers from the Bridge of Lubbock are currently collecting canned food items for the outreach. If you would like to make a donation, or would like more information on the outreach, you may visit www.bridgeoflubbock.org or call 806-687-0772.
