Texas Tech tops South Dakota State 68-54

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Jordan Tolbert scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Texas Tech to a 68-54 win over South Dakota State on Thursday night.

Dusty Hannahs added 12 points and hit on all nine free throw attempts and Jaye Crockett had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Brayden Carlson led South Dakota State with 14 points, hitting 4-of-11 3-pointers, and Cody Larson added 12 points.

The Red Raiders got out to a quick lead with four points from Dejan Kravic and led the whole way. The Jackrabbits cut it to six at 56-50 with 5:48 left in the game on a Carlson 3-pointer but Hannahs responded with one of his own to help Tech run away with it.

The Red Raiders (4-1) dominated SDSU (1-4) in points in the paint, 33 to 18, and scored 22 points off of turnovers compared with seven for SDSU.
