Texas Works exhibit showcases three Texas artists

The Buddy Holly Center is thrilled to announce its biennial exhibition, Texas Works, a show that focuses on the creative talents and productions of Texas artists.

For the past several years, the exhibition has grown to include individuals with innovative styles and concepts. This year, the exhibit will explore the works of three artists who specialize in the printmaking medium. The featured artists provoke, challenge and incite the viewers with unique perspectives and skill.

Texas Works will be open December 6, 2013 through February 16, 2014 in the Fine Arts Gallery of the Buddy Holly Center. The artists exhibited are Catherine Prose, John Hitchcock and Katherine Liontas-Warren.

Catherine Prose is a working artist in Wichita Falls, Texas, where she is an Associate Professor of Art and Gallery Director for The Juanita and Ralph Harvey School of Visual Arts at Midwestern State University. Prose holds a Bachelor of Art from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, and a Master of Fine Art from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.

John Hitchcock is an artist and professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he teaches screen-printing, relief cut and installation art. Hitchcock received his Bachelor of Fine Art from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma and earned his Master of Fine Art in printmaking and photography at Texas Tech University.

Katherine Liontas-Warren is a professor of art at Cameron University where she teaches drawing, watercolor and printmaking. She has a Bachelor of Science from Southern Connecticut and a Master of Fine Art from Texas Tech University.
