Two TJC Officers suspended following off campus student fight

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Two Tyler Junior College Officers have been suspended following an off campus fight between students last week.

According to TJC Public Information Officer Fred Peters, Monty Ward and Josh Lowry have been suspended for insubordination for failing to follow orders not to leave their jurisdiction.

According to police, a fight occurred last week at the Varsity Place apartments. Tyler Police responded to the scene, as well did the two TJC officers. Peters tells us the two officers were told not to respond, but did respond to the area which is located off of the TJC campus.

The two officers are suspended without pay while Tyler Junior College Officials investigate the insubordination. The Tyler Police Department is investigating the fight at the apartment.
