City of Lubbock offices closing for Thanksgiving holiday

City of Lubbock offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Regular business hours will resume on Monday, Dec. 2.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, regularly scheduled trash pickup will not occur on Thursday or Friday. There will be limited trash pickup on Saturday, Nov. 30, and normal pickup will resume on Monday, Dec. 2. Residents with trash cart collection normally scheduled for Thursday, will receive trash cart collection on Saturday, Nov. 30. Residents with carts are asked to have their carts out before 7 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30.

The City of Lubbock drop-off Recycling and Citizen Collection Stations at 1631 84th Street, 208 Municipal Drive, 7308 Milwaukee and 4307 Adrian Street will also be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29. The stations will be open for normal operations on Saturday, Nov. 30.

The West Texas Region Disposal Facility and the Caliche Canyon Landfill will observe the following holiday schedule:

  • Thanksgiving Day - Closed
  • Day after Thanksgiving - Closed
  • Saturday, Nov. 30 - West Texas Region Disposal Facility 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 

The Buddy Holly Center and Silent Wings Museum will be closed Thursday and Friday and open regular hours Saturday and Sunday.

The Garden and Arts Center will be closed Thursday through Sunday and will re-open Monday.
