BASKETBALL: Texas Tech rolls past UTSA 94-64

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Jaye Crockett scored 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead Texas Tech to a 94-64 victory against Texas-San Antonio Friday night.

Jordan Tolbert remained a consistent threat for Texas Tech (6-2) as he added 12 points and six rebounds. Randy Onwuasor scored 15 points and Aaron Ross added 13.

Crockett, Tolbert, Ross and Onwuasor gave UTSA fits throughout the game, as Texas Tech had a 54 shooting percentage to UTSA's 37.7.

Phillip Jones led UTSA (1-6) with 12 points and nine rebounds. Kaj-Bjorn Sherman scored 11 points and Jordan Sims added 11 for the Roadrunners.

UTSA grabbed a lead on the opening possession, but fell behind quickly as Texas Tech broke an early 7-7 tie with a 30-13 run to close the first half. The Red Raiders led by as much as 35 points midway through the second half.
