Looktel money reader; how the US beat Japan in iPhone technology

Posted: Updated:

Japanese engineers have developed an APP for iPhone users to help the visually impaired read paper bills.

All you have to do is use the iPhone to take a picture of the bill, and a voice tells you how much you're holding.

But, when you read the whole story, what's new today is an APP that reads Japanese currency, and a voice that tells you in Japanese how much you're holding.

It turns out; there is already a similar APP in the US which reads out loud every paper bill from 1 to 100.

It's called the looktel money reader, and it only costs $2 in the APP store.
