Monday, Lubbock city officials scramble to put a curfew ordinance back into law. The city's legal staff recently discovered that the ordinance expired the first of June. The city must renew the curfew ordinance every three years, and it was overlooked this time around.
Since its expiration, police wrote 200 citations and 40 of those violators paid their fines. The city will have to pay $4,200 in refunds.
Police officers can write curfew citations again beginning Saturday, October 30th.
