If you've filled up your gas tank lately, chances are your wallet is feeling a little lighter.
Gas prices have surged 8 cents nationwide in the past two weeks. Here in Lubbock, the average price is about $1.89 per gallon. But the price dipped a few cents at Bolton's, coming in at a $1.86. Premium gas however is selling for $2 per gallon and over at most stations, which is still below the national average which is $2.02 a gallon for regular unleaded.
The increase is being blamed on high crude oil prices and damage to oil and gas plants caused by Hurricane Ivan.
