Victim identified in Madison Co. murder

MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Madison County Sheriff's Department has confirmed the identity of the woman killed in a deadly shooting Saturday.

Sergeant Brian Chaffin identified the murder victim as Amy R. Murphy.

According to deputies, Murphy was shot to death at a home on the 1400 block of Jordan Road on Saturday morning.

Deputies searched for Scott Carter, 44, in connection with the murder investigation. Carter shot himself to death in Arkansas Sunday afternoon following a brief pursuit by troopers there.
