A new report is out about the spread of cancer worldwide.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer released its latest data on incidence, mortality and prevalence of 28 types of cancer today.
It reports that the incidence in cancer has risen in most regions of the world, because of growth and aging of the global population. The agency says another striking finding is the sharp rise in breast cancer worldwide.
"Those increases are being felt particularly in the low and middle income countries, and the consequence of that of course is that cancer needs to become a priority really for health ministries across the world and not just in the richer nations," says Dr. Christopher Wild, Director of IARC.
