CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A blind man is demanding answers after he says an RTA van service dropped him off outside the wrong house in brutal cold and snow.

Sears Mitchell says on Wednesday night he found himself stumbling in the snow and cold after an RTA paratransit bus driver dropped him off at the wrong house up the block from his home.

It happened at East 125th and Griffing in Cleveland.

Good thing Gerrard Whatley came out to see why there was a strange man outside his house. He ended up walking Mitchell home.

"So I came outside and I asked him did he need help.  He said, 'I'm blind'," said Whatley.

"He was on the wrong side of the house.  He wasn't in the driveway but he was in the grass.  He didn't know where to go."

RTA contracts with Provide-A-Ride.

Both are investigating and even reviewing GPS records. The head of Provide-Ride says, the driver that night claims she dropped Sears at the right house--even described his front door and porch.

But both porches appear similar and RTA says Sears Mitchell told the driver he didn't need guidance. But did he say he that?

"I don't remember a conversation saying I don't need anyone to walk me up," he told 19 Action News.  "Thank goodness for the guy who came out and got involved and decided to help me out."

RTA and Provide-A-Ride plan to talk to Sears Mitchell in order to get to the bottom of this. Mitchell is not pushing for anyone to get fired but he can't afford to get stuck in the frigid cold and snow in a strange place he can't even see.
