Keeping your pets safe this holiday season

Posted: Updated:

Even though it's Christmas season, here is some advice from a veterinarian…don't treat your pets to the leftovers.

"The foods that we eat tend to be a little fattier than the dog food they're used to, so it causes the pancreas to overwork and get inflamed," says Veterinarian Jae Chang.

Dr. Chang also says that could send your pet to the vet with pancreatitis.

And another word of advice, don't let your animals drink from the water dish under a live Christmas tree or plants. He says the bacteria growing in that stagnant water can also trigger trouble for pets.
