Warning For Drivers After Fatal Motorcycle Accident

Steven Holt was driving West on 7318 82nd street near Urbana Avenue about 8am Wednesday morning when a pickup pulled out in front of him causing a collision. 34-year-old Holt was thrown from his motorcycle and hit by another vehicle.

The accident happened just as the sun was coming over the horizon. Police say the sun may have blinded the driver of the pick-up, so that he was unable to see Holt on his motorcycle as he was exiting a parking lot. This is something drivers face not just in the morning, but in the evening as well and police say drivers should be aware of this year round.

NewsChannel 11 is told Holt was wearing a helmet along with other protective gear, but it was that second hit that may have ultimately killed him. His death is the second motorcycle fatality this year
