(RNN) - Three Southeastern Conference schools will have to pay fines for having fans rush the field after big wins, and another must pay up for a longtime, loud tradition that violates a noise rule.

Auburn was hit with a $5,000 fine because its fans stormed the field after Chris Davis returned a last-second, missed field goal 109 yards to beat Alabama; Missouri had to pay $5,000 for the on-field celebration after an emotional win over Texas A&M guaranteed a trip to the SEC Championship Game and Ole Miss, a repeat offender, was docked $25,000 for the revelry following a home win over LSU, according to the SEC.

"These were some of the most exciting and intriguing games of the college football season and we understand the exuberance of our fans in the celebration of their schools' victories, but these incidents pose a significant risk of injury and we must always make the health and safety of our student-athletes and fans the top priority," SEC commissioner Mike Slive said in the news release.

Mississippi State was hit with a $25,000 fine for its fans' ringing cowbells during games, which violates the SEC's ban of artificial noisemakers.
