LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock police are searching for a suspect accused of stealing from the One Stop Smoke Shop at 50th and I-27 and shooting at clerks who tried to follow him.

Several officers responded to the call just after 9 p.m. Thursday night.

The suspect reportedly stole from the store and when clerks followed him outside, they say the suspect shot at them.

Fortunately, no one was hit.

The suspect is described as being a Hispanic male between 25 and 30 years old.

Police say that the suspect vehicle was located around midnight in the 7000 block of I-27. The vehicle stopped for officers then fled the scene. Officers pursued the suspect until the suspect's vehicle became stuck in an alley near the 8100 block of Avenue D. The driver fled on foot.

Officers searched for the suspect on the ground and the DPS helicopter attempted to find the suspect, but could not locate him.

A female passenger was in the car and was arrested on charges not related to the robbery.

We'll continue to update this story as we learn more.
