LISD Hopes To Save Money By Digging Wells

The Lubbock Independent School District is doing its part to conserve the city's water supply and save money.

On Thursday school board members voted to install water wells at five LISD campuses. Digging at Estacado High School, Alderson Academy, Dunbar and Cavazos Junior High and Mackenzie Junior High is set to start soon. Those schools were chosen because of high water usage rates.

LISD expects the wells to save the district $120,000 a year.
