Gamecocks return to Palmetto State after bowl victory

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

The Gamecocks returned to Columbia Thursday, one day after beating the Wisconsin Badgers in the 2014 Capital One Bowl.

The team arrived to Williams-Brice Stadium around 6:15 p.m.

"We had a super crowd of Gamecocks down at the Capital One Bowl and they were a huge difference and us winning the fourth quarter and us winning another ball game so the crowd was wonderful," said Head Coach Steve Spurrier.

Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney also thanked fans who came out to say goodbye.

"I'm just happy to be a Gamecock and I love all my fans, and the Gamecock Nation,"  Clowney said.

An official celebration will take place on Jan. 18 at Colonial Life Arena during the men's basketball against Ole Miss. The game tips off at 4:30 p.m.
