Stephen Garcia signs with Tampa Bay AFL team

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Former South Carolina quarterback Stephen Garcia is back in a football uniform as Tampa's Arena Football League has picked up the ex-SEC gunslinger.

In a news release sent out late Monday afternoon, the Tampa Bay Storm said they had acquired Garcia.

"The Storm is always looking for local talent that can make an impact on our roster," said team president Jeff Gooch. "Stephen is from the Tampa Bay area and will help add to the level of competition at the quarterback position."

Garcia was dismissed from the Gamecocks back on Oct. 11, 2011 after five years with the team.

Following his collegiate career, Garcia signed with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League in 2012, but was dismissed a year later.

With offenses becoming increasingly explosive, plugging the holes is more imperative than ever. It's no surprise Alabama and Florida top the list, but the rest of the rankings may surprise you.
