Lubbock man gets 40 years for aggravated assault of a child

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A Lubbock man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for molesting a family member in 2002.

33-year-old Jose Alfredo Garcia pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault of a child in June.

On Wednesday, Jan. 8, Judge John McClendon handed down the verdict.

Garcia will be eligible for parole after 20 years and will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
