Every day, 15 people are diagnosed with ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease. That's more than 5,600 people every year.
On Saturday, hundreds of people took steps to help find a cure for the devastating disease. Volunteers participated in the fourth annual "Walk to D'Feet ALS" at Lubbock Christian University Saturday morning.
ALS causes nerve cells to die and muscles to gradually waste away. Proceeds from the walk benefit local patient programs and services as well as ALS research.
