2 suspects in custody after Wednesday night police chase

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

26-year-old Timothy Ryan Lovington and 34-year-old Oscar Felipe Garcia, Jr. have been taken into custody after a police chase around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night.

Police received a call that three suspects were acting suspiciously inside a convenience store near 50th and University.

When officers arrived, the suspects fled the scene at a high rate of speed, leading police on a chase. During the chase, the suspect vehicle collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle and the driver fled the scene on foot.

The suspects were apprehended near 47th and University and taken into custody. Two men in the vehicle were arrested and the third was released.

Lovington was charged with evading arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and a parole violation.

Garcia was charged with providing false identification and contempt of a child support order.
