IDALOU, TX (KCBD) -

The low level lockdown at Idalou ISD has been lifted and students are on their way home, but the police search continues.

A little before noon on Thursday, Idalou Police say an officer came upon a man sitting on a motorcycle that appeared to be broken down outside of the Thriftway supermarket.

The man told the officer he needed to go inside to purchase some fuses, but Idalou Police say he ran through the store took off shortly after speaking to the officer.

The Lubbock Sheriff's Office, SWAT, and K-9 units are assisting in the search.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-7 white male weighing between 160 to 170 pounds. He is bald with a lazy left eye. He was last seen wearing a thick black jacket with a hoodie and carhartt pants.

Police say there were questions over the ownership of the motorcycle and the suspect entered a home without permission during the chase, so he could be charged with criminal trespass of a residence, evading arrest, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Idalou police have identified the identity of the man in the photo, but have not released his name.

Police say the man has a criminal history.
