Single-digit temperatures expected across the South Plains

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Frigid temps will cover most of the South Plains Tuesday morning. Some record lows will be possible as temperatures will vary from near zero in Muleshoe to 5 degrees in Lubbock.

It will be sunny, but very cold during the day with highs only near 32 degrees.

Some areas of light freezing precipitation are likely well to our south in the region from Brownwood to Austin overnight. Amounts are not expected to be heavy but could cause some travel issues.

West Texas will start warming on Wednesday with sunshine, gusty southwest winds and highs that will move to the 40s once again.
