It's a mixed plate of top and low performers this week - topped off with a Food for Thought first.

KCBD NewsChannel 11's Christy Hartin dishes out the details.

One Guy from Italy at 1101 University is once again a top performer; it's their 16th perfect score.

Dario Yocum says a clean kitchen is their top priority. And while the name only touts one guy, Dario says he couldn't do it without his entire crew.

Next we head to another repeat top performer.

Chipotle Mexican Grill at 8201 Quaker had a perfect score.

America's favorite drive in did it again; Sonic Drive-In at 4904 Indiana skated through their inspection with zero critical violations.

Smoothie King at 3723 19th also blended up another perfect score.

Now to this week's low performers.

We start at Cracker Barrel at 5018 Milwaukee; they had six critical violations.

  • Tomatoes and eggs were above the safe cold temperature of 41 degrees.
  • Employees were not washing their hands for at least 20 seconds.
  • An employee did not wear gloves when handling french toast.
  • An employee cracked a raw egg and then handled clean dishes without washing their hands or changing gloves. Raw chicken was above ready to eat turkey.
  • An uncovered drink was in the food-prep area.
  • Kitchen utensils and containers were dirty.

The report shows all violations were corrected during the inspection.

Rise 'N' Shine Donuts at 7803 University had 10 critical violations.

  • Raw eggs were above 41 degrees.
  • Kolaches were not at least 135 degrees.
  • An employee did not wash their hands before putting on gloves. An employee did not use soap to wash their hands. An employee washed their hands for less than 20 seconds.
  • An employee did not wear gloves when making a burrito.
  • Gloves were being reused. An employee was eating in the kitchen. Food containers were on a hand sink.
  • Several items did not have a date mark.
  • A cleaning solution did not have a label. The sanitizing liquid was at toxic levels.
  • Two coolers did not have a thermometer.
  • The microwave was dirty.
  • The facility did not have a certified food manager.

The report shows all violations were corrected during the inspection.
