The Lubbock economy broke several records in 2013.
The latest economic index, released on Friday, shows the city issued $475 million in building permits last year.
That's $2 million more than the previous record, set in 2008.
Home sales also reached a new record, with more than 3,900 closed across the city. That beats the previous record set in 2007 by more than 200 sales.
A record-breaking number of jobs were also added last year.
The numbers are up in that category nearly three percent from 2012.
That puts Lubbock at sixth in the state for year-over-year job growth.
