Furr's restaurant chain filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The Furr's restaurant chain here in Texas says recent, brutal, winter weather is the reason it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Tuesday.

That's according to the Wall Street Journal, which reports that the company lost business during the December storm.

The storm left tens of thousands of people without power and stranded drivers across the state.

Restaurant news is reporting that both Lubbock locations will remain open, as well as the Lubbock-based Dynamic Foods operation.

That company provides food and menu items to the restaurant chain.
