Two Wednesday night house fires under investigation

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Fire officials are investigating the cause of two overnight fires in Lubbock.

Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to a house fire in the 2700 block of Dartmouth around 10 p.m.

There have been no reports of anyone being in the home at the time of this fire.

The New Deal Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire at Wells Street South and North Dixon just after 10 p.m.

They were assisted by the Shallowater and West Carlisle fire departments.

One person was inside at the time of the fire but was warned by a smoke detector.

The occupant evacuated the structure and was later transported to the emergency department for a non-fire related evaluation.

The fire was extinguished in three hours.

The fire started in the electrical box of the home. The home suffered 100% fire and smoke damage.

The Red Cross is assisting the occupant of the home.
