Llano Estacado Winery hosts 2014 Wine and Chocolate Fantasia

The Llano Estacado Winery and Texas Panhandle Chefs present the 2014 Llano Wine and Chocolate Fantasia.

Imagination becomes creation when Lubbock chocolate connoisseurs compete against one another for best in show.

Mike Laughlin, the manager of Llano Estacado Winery, said the chefs prepare tirelessly for the competition.

"Some of them apparently work on this for months and months at a time," Laughlin said. "Some, of course, kind of wait and try to see if they can do something that's currently on topic or something's that's really popular right now."

The event starts Saturday night at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets cost $50. Proceeds go to the Parkinson's Society of West Texas and also fund scholarships for local chefs.

To purchase tickets, call (806) 745-22-58.
