Lubbock police arrest suspect in overnight robbery

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock police have arrested a suspect in connection with an overnight robbery that happened outside First Bank and Trust at 7806 Indiana around 2 a.m.

Police say the suspect approached a person using the after hours deposit box and demanded money while pointing a gun at them.

An LPD officer located the suspect in an alley at 3500 78th Street and took him into custody after a brief foot chase.

Police found a bag of money identified as belonging to the victim and an air soft pistol that the suspect had tried to discard while running.

Henry Clay Smith, 34, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery. He is currently in the Lubbock County Detention Center.
