Lubbock Resident Turns 100

She says she owes it all to her faith in God. Long time Lubbock resident Gertrude Cobb celebrated her 100th birthday Saturday!

A party was held in her honor at her home. The celebration was given by her daughter and her two grandchildren. Ms. Cobb and her late husband moved to Lubbock in 1946 and opened many Cobb's Department Stores throughout the South Plains.

Lubbock was home to five of them. Ms. Cobb has been active in many organizations in Lubbock and has been a member of Broadway Church of Christ since she moved to Lubbock.
