When the Harlem Globetrotters took to the court at the United Spirit Arena on Thursday night, their roster included Thunder Law, a Trotter rookie who's glad to be in Lubbock.
"It's gonna be awesome. I've been waiting to play here. I'm excited I ran into one of my college alums, Tubby Smith," Law said.
Like the Red Raiders Coach, Law played college basketball at High Point University in North Carolina, where he finished second on the career rebound list.
But then Law laid down the law by setting a new Guinness Book of World Record for the longest basketball shot ever - 109 feet 9 inches.
"I did it November 15th last year in Phoenix, Arizona…it was amazing! You have to see the video. It was crazy. "
You can see Law's record shot here on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kV4-ziw4pU
"I'll never shoot it again, unless someone breaks the record and I have to shoot it further."
The Harlem Globetrotters are in their 88th year and tipped off at 7 p.m. against the World All-Stars at the United Spirit Arena.
