Former Red Raider Will Flemons returning to coach Paducah

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Former Red Raider and Wayland Baptist Flying Queens Coach Will Flemons is returning to Paducah to be principal and coach the Dragons boys basketball team.

Flemons led Paducah to two state titles as a player in 1987 and 1988.

The 6-8 Flemons played for the Red Raiders from 1988 to 1993, He was then an assistant coach at Texas Tech from 1994 to 1997 and again from 1999 to 2001.

Flemons coached the Wayland Baptist Flying Queens from 2003 to 2007, finishing with a 53-65 record.

He returns to coach the Dragons after being a basketball coach at 5A Brazoswood.

Flemons takes over for Jay Cantrell who was fired after being charged with multiple counts of indecency with a child.
