1 killed, 1 injured in Thursday night shooting

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

One person is dead and another injured following a shooting in south Lubbock County.

Deputies responded to a 911 call around 10:30 p.m. Thursday at a home in the 3200 block of County Road 7630.

Deputies say they found a man and a woman outside of the home upon arrival, both suffering from gunshot wounds.

55-year-old Tracy Don Dennis was pronounced dead at the scene.

51-year-old Patricia Diana Dennis was taken into custody and airlifted to the hospital with critical injuries.

Deputies say the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute and that the incident appears to be a murder and attempted suicide. 

According to records, the couple divorced in 2012. 

An investigation is in progress.
