Buddy Holly Center hosts Emily Verkamp exhibition

The Buddy Holly Center announces its new exhibition displayed in the Foyer Gallery Allusions to Antiquity: The Photography of Emily Verkamp.

This exhibition features the work of Texas Tech University art student Emily Verkamp, who uses artistic, historical and scientific references to create interesting and challenging juxtapositions in her unique photographic collages.

The exhibition will be on display February 28th through April 6th.

Emily Verkamp was born in Lubbock, Texas, and grew up in Idalou, Texas. She will receive her BFA in Art with an emphasis in photography from Texas Tech University in May.

Emily has been in several group exhibitions around Lubbock including the Illuminance biennial at the Buddy Holly Center in 2013, and the BFA show at the Landmark Arts Gallery at Texas Tech University. She has also had her work published in the Texas Tech University collaborative publication, The Harbinger.
