CASA of the South Plains is in need of volunteers in the Lubbock area.
Many volunteer advocates, staff and board members attended a workshop on Saturday dedicated to strengthening their advocacy skills in helping foster youth achieve a safe and permanent home.
Jennie Hill, the executive director of CASA of the South Plains, said because of the large number of foster children, they are always looking for new people.
"There is always a huge need that we have," Hill said. "We could use another 150, 200 people, unfortunately, because of the number of kids who are in the foster care system in our area."
CASA of the South Plains is looking for volunteers who love kids, and are passionate about giving children a voice while they are in the foster care system.
Training class begins on March 31st. For more information, call (806) 763-CASA, or visit their website - http://casaofthesouthplains.org/index.cfm.
