Police: Woman charged with murder after shooting ex-husband, self

A Lubbock County woman has been charged with murder in the death of her ex-husband.

Lubbock County Sheriff Deputies responded to the Saddle Club Estates near Indiana and Woodrow Rd. around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday after neighbors reported shots being fired.

When deputies arrived, they found two people outside the home with gunshot wounds.

53-year-old Tracy Dennis died a shortly after, and 51-year-old Patricia Dennis was air-lifted to UMC.

Investigators are calling this a case of murder and attempted suicide. They say Patricia shot Tracy and then shot herself.

Deputies say they believe the man lived in this home. According to Patricia's booking information, she lived elsewhere in the county.

She is currently in law enforcement custody at University Medical Center. She is a security patient, but was last reported as being in critical condition.
