Scattered showers and a few thundershowers are expected through the early morning hours across the South Plains.
A fast-moving cold front and some upper level support will trigger light amounts of rain, leading to more gusty winds but little significant rain potential.
Saturday will bring strong winds, cold temps and low wind chills. Lubbock will see a low of 33 and a high near 50 degrees.
Winds will stay out of the north at 20-30 mph and skies will be cloudy - a chilly day to follow the warm Friday which had a high of 83 degrees.
Sunday will be sunny and warmer with highs in the 60s, with light winds.
