Crisp Academy completes 4-peat

MACON, GA (WALB) -

The Crisp Academy girls won their fourth straight GISA A State Title with a 49-15 win against Jefferson on Saturday.

"Every year, it gets better and better and better," said head coach Gina Mitchell. "It's kinda like having children. Every time you have a new kid, it's just all great"

Crisp jumped out to a big first half lead, thanks to a smothering defense that allowed just one field goal and Kara White's timely shooting.

"I was looking for Madi (Mitchell) and then I realized she was double teamed and triple teamed, so I had to," White said.

White's shooting opened up the post and allowed Mercer signee Madi Mitchell to dominate the paint who scored 16 points in the second half.

"They had to guard everyone because everyone was hitting," Mitchell said. "So it just opened up, and we just took it and ran with it."
