The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) conducted a traffic stop Saturday on US 84, yielding illegal drugs valued over $54,000, and a pistol.

At approximately 8:00 a.m., a DPS trooper stopped a 2013 Toyota Camry for speeding over 100 mph, on US 84 near Post in Garza County.

During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered several vacuumed-sealed packages of high-grade marijuana, a package of methamphetamine and a pistol in the trunk of the vehicle.

The driver of the Camry was identified as Jamie Morgan Davila, 33, of Lubbock. Davila was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Garza County jail. The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from California to Aransas Pass, Texas.
