An unusual collision slowed traffic on the South Loop Thursday morning. This one involved a large deer.
It happened around 8:30 Thursday morning on Loop 289 and University. A driver was headed East on the loop when he collided with a six point buck. The driver of the car was not injured, however the deer had to be put down.
Animal services says the wildlife population inside city limits is increasing partly because of construction, and also the availability of pet food in residential areas.
