Coming off a 1-0 pitchers duel in game one Friday, game two followed suit, but again Texas Tech came up on the wrong end, 2-1 losers to Baylor Saturday afternoon in Waco.
The Bears got the scoring started with runs in the 1st and 2nd innings, scoring on a Mitch Price sac fly in the 1st and a Logan Brown infield single in the 2nd to lead 2-0.
The score remained until Jake Barrios accounted for Tech's lone run of the series with a 5th inning base hit that scored Matt Broadbent and cut Baylor's lead to 2-1.
The Red Raiders threatened in the 9th with runners on 1st and 2nd and no outs, but Alec Humphreys popped up a bunt try, Barrios flew out to center and Eric Gutierrez grounded out to 3rd to end the game.
Chris Sadberry was the tough luck loser today, throwing 5 and 1/3 innings allowing two runs on seven hits. He struck out four and walked one batter.
The loss drops Texas Tech to 15-5 on the year and 0-2 in Big 12 play. Sunday they'll try to salvage one game of this three game series, first pitch is 1:05 p.m. in Waco.
