Gulfport considers new Air National Guard base entrance

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Mississippi Air National Guard leaders want to relocate the main entrance to the Combat Readiness Training Center.  The current entryway on Hewes Avenue will be demolished, and a new gate will be created on Washington Avenue.

To get the project started, the military needs to enter into a memorandum of understanding (MOA) with the city of Gulfport.  That MOA is on Tuesday's city council agenda.

A new traffic light will be erected at the Washington Avenue location.
